You’d be hard-pressed to find a classic comic strip held in higher regard than Winsor McKay’s endlessly imaginative and beautifully illustrated Little Nemo in Slumberland. His son, Robert - the one-time model for the titular character - had little subsequent success attempting to revive the character numerous times under his own stewardship. Here, behind the terrifying agape maw gracing the cover of Kayo Comics No.12 (the only issue of Kayo Comics), produced by the Harry A Chesler shop, is Robert’s action-adventure take (complete with Little Nemo throwing a soupbone) on his father’s strip.
